Craftsmanship meets good humor
Happy is the man who can call a real silver cup his own. Crown Prince Albert Edward, known as “Bertie”, had his Prince of Wales cocktail served exclusively in a silver cup. Bartenders on luxury liners and in international hotels still prefer real silver today, as a silver cup immediately takes on the temperature of the drink. Perfect for all cocktails. It’s Swingtime
On our tour of our MÖHRLE SILVER GERMANY manufactory, Franziska shows with this funny slapstick in front of all kinds of tools that a silver cane from our collection is always chic and by no means old-fashioned.
They captured the hearts of all movie fans with their walking stick. Charlie Chaplin’s most famous accessory was auctioned off in Los Angeles together with his black bowler hat for 62,500 dollars. Chaplin’s initials and those of his film character Little Tramp – “LT” – are engraved on the walking stick. Fred Astaire achieved a meteoric rise to fame with the walking stick.
Treasures in the cellar
This is the cellar of our manufactory. MÖHRLE SILBER GERMANY, matching our handmade real silver Bedroom candle holder, which Victoria is holding in her hand. The photo inspired us to tell a little story: “Once upon a time there was a fairy who lived in a house full of beautiful things made of real silver.

Elegant accessory for wind and weather
We take you on a tour of our factory! May we introduce you? This is our pressing room, where one of the most important steps in the production of our silverware takes place: After cutting out the silver plate, the desired pattern is stamped into the silver blank with a force weighing several tons.
After many more steps of pure craftsmanship, a silver handle is created, as shown here, making an umbrella much more than just a simple helper in bad weather. Our employee Ercan carries a large and sturdy umbrella with a 925 sterling silver round hook handle, the fabric in the finest Italian design is supplied by Francesco Maglia Milano, Ombrelliartigianali dal 1854. Wouldn’t you rather have a stylish companion than an industrially manufactured mass product?
It’s going to be festive!
Our handmade trays or place settings made from 925 sterling silver are transformed into elegant Advent wreaths during the Christmas season.
As early as the 19th century, candles were lit to shorten the wait for Christmas, but as many candles as there were days from the first Advent to Christmas Eve and all on a wagon wheel! Later, it was made of fir greenery and, presumably for practical reasons, fitted with four candles.

Martelé or the art of hammering
A fascination with beauty, sound and craftsmanship: Franziska has been playing since she was six years old and her joy is unbroken. Of course, she has learned the different types of bowing, a very special one is “martelé”, the immediate onset of the bowing movement with full bow pressure creates a percussive tone beginning, which sounds like “hammered” according to the French translation.
For gourmets
We have her to thank for it: at a banquet in February 1545, Catherine de Medici (1519 – 1589) demanded that a fork be used as table cutlery. This spectacular event caused a great deal of discussion and the introduction of the fork as a princely eating utensil.
A chronicler in France tells us about the common practice before Catherine: “While I was eating a succulent roast, I noticed four gentlemen who never once touched the meat with their fingers. They brought forks to their mouths and bent low over their plates. As I had no experience, I didn’t dare follow their example and just ate with my knife.”
